Looking ahead

Hi Friends,

It is so good to be home from a three-week trek across the country.  First in Nashville, where SHC presented an official AmericanaFest event at The Bowery Vault with an all-star lineup: Amelia White, Renee Wahl, Tony Denikos, Jonathan Byrd, Tim Easton, and Amy Speace.  All of these folks gave their all to their performances.  The owners and staff at The Bowery Vault are top-notch.  From Nashville, I put on the tour manager hat for Marc Douglas Berardo when he hopped in my conveyance and we headed west for his annual Colorado tour.  This year we made a stop in Wyoming.  Not only were the shows wonderful but was meeting up with dear friends.   After the tour was over,  we road back to Nashville, where SHC Music Tribe presented at the world renown The Bluebird Cafe an in-the-round show with Marc Douglas Berardo, Walt Wilkins, Thomm Jutz, and Amelia White.   It was another magical night in Nashville.

Now that I am home, there are some exciting October shows that SHC is presenting/promoting.  I hope you can come to one or all of them.

On October 17, at 7:30 PM in Annapolis, MD,  ITZ ALL Goode and SHC are presenting Dana Cooper and Marc Douglas Berardo at 49 West Coffeehouse, Winebar, and Gallery. Both of these artists are poetic songwriters and storytellers, with wonderfully different song styles.  TICKETS  $17 - Door $20.

You can make reservations by buying a ticket in advance OR by calling 49 West at 410-626-9796. Please do not do both. Buying an advanced ticket reserves your seat.

On October 21 at 7:30 PM in Washington DC, Jimmy "Daddy" Davis joins Marc Douglas Berardo at Lucky Penny House Concerts Jimmy Davis' songs have been recorded by Martina McBride, Restless Heart, Tommy Alverson, Reba Russell, and Walt Wilkins, as well as a myriad of other recording artists.   He has won vocalist of the year multiple times. As a backing vocalist, Jimmy has lent his extensive vocal talents to projects by numerous recording artists, The North Mississippi Allstars, Jim Dickinson, Johnny Lang, Bernie Leadon, Keith Sykes, Michael Hearne, Toy Caldwell, Susan Marshall, Mark Collie, and William Lee Golden.
RSVP/Contact: pheckert@yahoo.com 202 321-6160

On October 22 at 7 PM in Takoma Park MD, Marc Douglas Berardo will be performing at Weil Sing House Concerts.  Lynn Hollyfield will be his very special guest.Email or call Richard Weil to rsvp and receive the address:  weil88@verizon.net or call 301-717-6841

On October 23 at 4 PM in Baltimore, MD,  Marc Douglas Berardo and Jimmy "Daddy' Davis team up again to perform at Chez Hill House Concerts in Baltimore.  RSVP and info: artyhill@comcast.net.

I hope to see you at one or all of these shows.  They will be a guaranteed good time.

YOU'RE INVITED!

My Dear Music Family,

I’m writing to invite you to join my virtual table for the streaming event Every Step Tells a Story — An Evening of Music and Storytelling presented by O Museum in The Mansion on October 24th, 2021 at 6:00 PM EST

EVERY STEP TELLS A STORY is a once-in-a-lifetime event will feature stories from The O Museum and appearances by artists, performers and storytellers from all walks of life including 13 time GRAMMY Winner Emmylou Harris, Oscar & GRAMMY winner Paul Williams and many more.

Support for this event will help sustain the ground-breaking programs for the arts and social justice at the O MUSEUM IN THE MANSION including Artist and Heroes-in-Residence, and 51 Steps to Freedom; the first ever tour in Washington, DC that combines history, art, and culture to connect prominent Civil Rights sites to tell the story of Washington, DC — and America’s — journey (since 1791) for equality and representation.

I think you all know about my dedication and devotion to The O Museum in The Mansion.  I have hosting concerts there live prior to COVID and online post COVID.  I first started out knowing about how they support the arts and the artists we love. Since then, I have found out that they do so much more.  I serve on the planning committee/board for this event and the O Museum in the Mansion that is located in Washington, D.C.

Now more than ever we believe the world needs to hear messages of hope, love, unity, and understanding. The money raised through Every Step Tells a Story will allow the O Museum in The Mansion to continue to provide tools for children to better themselves, for individuals to find understanding, and for companies to add depth, context, and solutions to all levels of their organization.

I invite all of you, my friends, to join me at my virtual table at no cost to you to be inspired at this remarkable evening of music and storytelling. Please register HERE to sit at my "virtual" table. You’ll be asked for my Table Host Name:  Susie Markland and my email: shcmusictribe@gmail.com when you sign up. Once you are registered, you will be sent a link to watch shortly before the show begins.

Please feel free to share my invitation link with others who you know that would like to attend. I would be delighted to welcome them to my virtual table!
